چکیده

The axiomatic treatment of the computational complexity of partial recursive functions initiated by Blum is extended to relatively computable functions (as computed, for example, by Turing machines with oracles). Relativizations of several results of complexity theory are carried out. A recursive relatedness theorem is proved, showing that any two relative complexity measures are related by a fixed recursive function. This theorem allows proofs of results for all measures to be obtained from proofs for a particular measure. Complexity-determined reducibilities are studied. Truth-table and primitive recursive reducibilities are proved to be reducibilities of this type. The concept of a set "helping" the computation of a function (by causing a saving in resource when used as an oracle in the computation of the function) is formalized. Basic properties of the helping relation are given, including nontransitivity and bounds on the amount of help certain sets can provide. Several independence results (results about sets that do not help each other's computation) are proved; they are subrecursive analogs to degrees-ofunsolvability theorems with proofs using diagonalization and priority arguments. In particular, the existence of a "universally-helped set" is discussed; partial results are obtained in both directions. The deepest result in the paper is a finite-injury priority argument (without an apparent recursive bound on the number of injuries) which produces sets preserving an arbitrary lower bound on the complexity of any given set.

Reduction of Computational Complexity in Finite State Automata Explosion of Networked System Diagnosis (RESEARCH NOTE)

This research puts forward rough finite state automata which have been represented by two variants of BDD called ROBDD and ZBDD. The proposed structures have been used in networked system diagnosis and can overcome cominatorial explosion. In implementation the CUDD - Colorado University Decision Diagrams package is used. A mathematical proof for claimed complexity are provided which shows ZBDD ...

Size-dependent thermoelastic analysis of rotating nanodisks of variable thickness

This paper contains a strain gradient theory to capture size effects in rotating nanodisks of variable thickness under thermal and mechanical loading. Material properties of nanodisks have been taken homogeneous material. The strain gradient theory and the Hamilton’s principle are employed to derive the governing equations. Due to complexity of the governing differential equation and boundary c...

On the computational complexity of finding a minimal basis for the guess and determine attack

Guess-and-determine attack is one of the general attacks on stream ciphers. It is a common cryptanalysis tool for evaluating security of stream ciphers. The effectiveness of this attack is based on the number of unknown bits which will be guessed by the attacker to break the cryptosystem. In this work, we present a relation between the minimum numbers of the guessed bits and uniquely restricted...

Biclique Cryptanalysis of Block Ciphers LBlock and TWINE-80 with Practical Data Complexity

In the biclique attack, a shorter biclique usually results in less data complexity, but at the expense of more computational complexity. The early abort technique can be used in partial matching part of the biclique attack in order to slightly reduce the computations. In this paper, we make use of this technique, but instead of slight improvement in the computational complexity, we keep the amo...

Chaos/Complexity Theory and Education

Sciences exist to demonstrate the fundamental order underlying nature. Chaos/complexity theory is a novel and amazing field of scientific inquiry. Notions of our everyday experiences are somehow in connection to the laws of nature through chaos/complexity theory’s concerns with the relationships between simplicity and complexity, between orderliness and randomness (Retrieved from http://www.inc...
